Tottenham Hotspur skipper Hugo Lloris believes that new signing Davinson Sanchez understands perfectly the way the Lilywhites play and a clean sheet in his first game was a perfect way to start life with the north London side.

Saturday's match against Everton was the new signing's first full debut for his new club as the Londoners managed to outplay Ronald Koeman's team away from home and ran out 3-0 winners.

Having seen him at close quarters, the skipper said that Sanchez was impressive and understands perfectly the way the club play.

On his performance overall, the goalkeeper said that it was a great feeling for Sanchez as well as everyone else as his first start ended with the team managing a clean sheet.

“He’s a quiet guy but he understands perfectly the way we play", Lloris told his club's official website.

"For his first game it was fantastic because we had a clean sheet.

"He was very aggressive in the first half, he had some good runs and it’s a great feeling for everyone, especially for him."

Sanchez's first game for Mauricio Pochettino's side had ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw against Burnley at Wembley last month before Tottenham headed for the international break.

He will now look to add to his positive experiences when Tottenham take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.
