Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke believes Tottenham Hotspur's financial power now ensures they do not lose their best players.

Dortmund have flown into London from Germany in preparation for Wednesday night's Champions League clash against Spurs at Wembley and Watzke is confident about their chances.

Watzke feels Spurs are a top team and knows the importance of his side managing to pick up something from their trip to England as he feels both clubs are in competition with each other for a top two spot in the group.

The CEO said via his club's site: "Tottenham are a top team that have developed very well over the years.

"The club also have financial power, so that their best players are not taken away", he continued.

"But we also have a good team.

"It would be good if we can score; we usually take points.

"I think the direct comparison with Tottenham will not be unimportant."

European champions Real Madrid are also in Group H with Spurs and Dortmund, while Cypriot side APOEL make up the numbers and will be keen to have their own say over proceedings.

Dortmund currently top the Bundesliga after taking seven points from their opening three games, also being yet to concede a goal, and the smart money is on either the German side or Spurs joining Real Madrid in the last 16.
