Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is relishing the competition with Anthony Martial for a place in the side and believes they are improving each other every day.

Jose Mourinho has been inter-changing the pair in his starting elevens this season on the left hand side of Manchester United’s forward line and both have impressed in several games.

Martial started against FC Basel on Tuesday night in the Champions League, but it was Rashford who got on the scoresheet in the 3-0 win to mark his debut in Europe’s elite competition with a goal after coming on as a substitute.

Mourinho is again expected to shake things up on Sunday against Everton and while the 19-year-old admits that being in and out of the side is not easy, he feels both him and Martial are making most of their opportunities.

And Rashford has stressed that the competition is helping the duo as they are both pushing each other in training and as well as games to try and impress the manager.

The striker told MUTV when probed about the competition with Martial: “It’s difficult when you are in and out of the team, but you have to find the positives and I think we have both done that.

“I think it’s a positive competition as we are improving each other every day when we are in training and in the games we are pushing each other more and more.

“It’s a headache for the manager, but it’s a good headache.”

Rashford has three goals to his name in six games, with Martial netting two in five.
