Heung-Min Son has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur have learnt from their disappointing Champions League campaign last season, following his side’s impressive 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund, and he is sure they can qualify from their group.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team fared poorly in the Champions League in the 2016/17 campaign and were knocked out from the group stage of the tournament after winning just two games.

However, Spurs made a rollicking start to their European adventure this season by beating Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley, with Son scoring once and Harry Kane netting a brace.

And the South Korea international, who feels Tottenham have profited from last season’s experience in the Champions League, is confident about the north London club clearing the group stage hurdle this year.

“I think the players knew what happened last season”, he said on Spurs TV.
