Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists his side can be "really strong" in their upcoming matches, despite a lacklustre run of results.

Klopp's men have continued to be dogged by defensive issues this season, with the German saying there is no quality problem with his players and by implication putting the responsibility onto himself to improve Liverpool at the back through work on the training pitch.

The Reds have now not won in their last three games, a run which has seen a whopping eight goals conceded, the latest against Burnley on Saturday to earn the Clarets a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

But Klopp still retains firm faith in his men and believes across a double header against Leicester City, in the Premier League and the EFL Cup, a trip to Spartak Moscow in the Champions League and then a league trip to Newcastle United, Liverpool can be "really strong".

"Now we go to Leicester, Leicester again, then we go to Moscow and then Newcastle and if we can keep the shape and improve the other things, I think everybody has seen already we can be really strong", Klopp was quoted as saying by beIN Sports.

"We have to be strong, I know that, but we really can be strong", he added.

Liverpool travel to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night to play Leicester in the EFL Cup, with their last two trips to the ground resulting in five goals conceded and two defeats.
