Danny Murphy has no complaints with Chelsea's David Luiz being sent off against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, but believes Sead Kolasinac made a meal of the Brazilian's tackle.

Luiz saw red three minutes from time in the 0-0 draw for a poor tackle on Kolasinac, which led to fears about a potential injury to the left wing-back, with worries it had the potential to break his leg.

But Murphy did not see the challenge like that and thinks Kolasinac did his best to stitch Luiz up.

The former Liverpool midfielder also feels Luiz's tackle was one which simply came out of frustration as Chelsea came up short at home against Arsene Wenger's men.

"It was a stupid tackle, a stupid one, he got a bit carried away", Murphy said on BBC Match of the Day Facebook Live.

"I think the lad made the most of it to be honest, which they tend to do, try to stitch each other up, which is nonsense.

"It was a naughty tackle. It was a tackle born out of frustration.

"It wasn't a horrendous tackle for me, he caught him on the end of the toe and the lad jumped around like he'd been shot; and he got up and was fine.

"It wasn't as bad as it looked", Murphy added.

The 0-0 draw meant the game was the first time under Antonio Conte that Chelsea have failed to score in a home match.

Chelsea now sit in third spot in the Premier League standings while Arsenal are 12th.
