Leeds United legend Eddie Gray feels Millwall would have been very disappointed if they had failed to pick up the full three points against the Whites at the weekend.

The Yorkshire giants suffered their first defeat in all competitions this season after going down 1-0 to the Lions.

Millwall were by far the better team at the Den as Leeds put in a rare unimpressive display since Thomas Christiansen took charge of the club in the summer.

Despite dominating proceedings against Leeds, Millwall had to wait until the 73rd minute to break the deadlock at the Den.

And Gray, who admitted that Leeds were never really in the game, thinks Millwall would have been upset if they did not win against the Elland Road outfit, owing to their superior performance.

“We never really got into grips with the game”, Gray said on LUTV.

“They put us under pressure, they closed us down quickly and made it very difficult for us.

“And we never really coped with it.

“They would’ve been very disappointed if they didn’t pick up the three points at the Den.

“We probably got away with one or two early in the game.

“They dominated both halves and we were never really in the game for a long period of time.”

Before resuming their Championship campaign with a game against Ipswich Town on Saturday, Leeds will take on Premier League outfit Burnley in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
