Liverpool legend Jan Molby has bemoaned the Reds' defending in a 2-0 EFL Cup defeat away at Leicester City this evening.

Jurgen Klopp's men dominated the opening 45 minutes, but could not make it tell as they went in locked at 0-0 with the Foxes.

The second half saw Liverpool's performance level slump and just after the hour mark Shinji Okazaki handed Leicester the lead.

And with 12 minutes left in the contest Islam Slimani hit a superb strike into the top corner, giving Leicester a cushion which Liverpool would not trouble as they crashed out of the EFL Cup.

For Molby, opposing teams are at present not having real difficulty scoring against the Reds and he bemoaned a number of defensive mistakes

"It's too easy against us", he said on LFC TV.

"Teams don't have to do too much against us to get success.

"When there are so many mistakes from crosses, you expect someone to get it right", Molby added.

Liverpool's last trophy was the EFL Cup, with the Reds lifting the silverware under Kenny Dalglish in 2012.

Klopp's side have conceded ten goals in their last four matches, scoring only three.
