An unnamed Premier League club have entered the mix for Genoa talent Pietro Pellegri, with Chelsea and Manchester City mooted as potential candidates for the striker's signature.

Pellegri has been turning heads with his performances in Italy at the tender age of just 16 and already Genoa have had to contend with Inter, AC Milan and Juventus sniffing around their top talent.

The youngster clocked up 57 minutes against Lazio in Serie A at the weekend and scored both Genoa's goals in a 3-2 defeat, further boosting his reputation.

Now an unnamed Premier League side are keen, with Chelsea and Manchester City both possibilities, according to Italian daily Il Secolo XIX.

Manchester United have shown interest in Pellegri in the past and in 2015 offered the youngster a contract.

But after careful consideration and discussions with his father, Pellegri chose to knock back the Red Devils and stay at Genoa.

He now has a total of four Serie A appearances to his name and has hit the back of the net on three occasions.
