Rangers youngster Ross McCrorie admits that he has been encouraged by the support he has received from Pedro Caixinha since the Portuguese's arrival at the club earlier this year.

The 19-year-old defender made his debut for Rangers when he replaced Bruno Alves in the second half last night in their 3-1 Scottish League Cup quarter-final win over Partick Thistle.




The youngster impressed in his first outing in the senior team and the Scot wants to keep impressing Caixinha and get as many as minutes as possible during the course of the season.

Asked about his expectations from the season, the young defender told Rangers TV: “Hopefully keep getting as many games as I can and keep impressing the gaffer.
 


“And then just take it from there and see what happens.”

Caixinha reserved special praise for McCrorie after the game and feels the youngster is not only the future of Rangers but also of the Scottish national team.

The young defender is delighted by the Rangers manager’s praise and admits Caixinha has been a great help since his arrival at the club earlier this year.

McCrorie added: “[Those are] great words from the gaffer and since he has come, he has involved me right from the start.

“It’s been great get in amongst the first team and hopefully I can continue and keep on playing well.”
