Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha has warned striker Alfredo Morelos to expect the Celtic players to provoke him in Saturday's Old Firm fixture at Ibrox.

Morelos, 21, was expected to be one for the future when Rangers snapped him up from Finnish side HJK Helsinki in the summer transfer window, but the Colombian is playing an increasingly starring role for the Gers.

He has settled into Scottish football at once and has six goals in six Scottish Premiership games, marking him out as a threat to Celtic continuing their lengthy unbeaten domestic run, which currently stands at 56 matches.

Caixinha knows Morelos plays with emotion and has told the striker to expect Celtic to try to provoke him in the hopes of getting him in trouble with the match officials.

"I say to Morelos – Enjoy the game, keep scoring goals", Caixinha said at a press conference.

"Morelos needs to control his emotional side.

"I know he will be provoked but he has to remain calm.

"If I was an opposition manager I would say to my team to provoke Morelos.

"This is why he must remain calm under pressure. It will happen."

Caixinha will want Morelos to continue his lethal nature in front of goal against Brendan Rodgers' side as Rangers look to score a morale-boosting win over the visiting Bhoys.

All three points for Rangers would also mean the gap between the two clubs in the Scottish Premiership being cut to just two points.
