Mauricio Pochettino has vowed that Tottenham Hotspur will fight and be aggressive when they lock horns with West Ham United on Saturday at the London Stadium.

Spurs have had a mixed start to the campaign and have struggled to build consistency at their new Wembley home.

Last term Pochettino saw West Ham all but end his side's Premier League title hopes as they ran out 1-0 winners at the London Stadium and the Argentine is wary of the threat posed by Slaven Bilic's men.

The Tottenham boss insists he takes his side to West Ham knowing what the derby fixture means and has vowed Spurs will show fight.

"For all the excitement and desire they show to beat us, we must show the same", he was quoted as saying by independent.ie.

"We must show the same desire, excitement and aggressivity.

"It is a derby. When you play a derby they try to give their best and try to win.

"It is our enemy, I understand very well that. For us we have to follow our way.

"We know very well what it means for our fans to play against West Ham.

"We will try to stay and be ready to compete, fight and be aggressive."

Tottenham just managed to shade Barnsley at Wembley in an EFL Cup tie earlier this week as Pochettino's men found the going tough against a resolute Tykes outfit.

West Ham meanwhile enjoyed their own EFL Cup win, securing a morale-boosting 3-0 success over Bolton Wanderers.
