Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has revealed that the Super Eagles are close to securing the services of Chelsea talent Tammy Abraham.

The striker, who is currently on loan at Premier League side Swansea City for the season, has turned out for England at youth level.

However, with no senior caps for the Three Lions yet, Abraham could jump ship and represent Nigeria on the international stage, something Pinnick is feeling positive about happening.

"Most recently, there was a meeting with Tammy, which Tammy’s agent, Neil Fewills also attended", the president told thenff.com.

"It was a useful meeting, and I can say the talks are at an appreciable level now and all is looking good", he continued.

"Tammy is like a son to me, because his father was my childhood friend.

"I believe he is a good prospect for the Super Eagles and the effort is well worth it."

If Abraham jumps ship to Nigeria, he could represent the country next summer at the World Cup in Russia, something which is likely to be a tempting prospect for the Chelsea talent.

So far the 19-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions in the current campaign, hitting the back of the net on two occasions.

He has played for England at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level and losing him would be a blow for the Three Lions.
