Jose Mourinho has insisted that he is not counting the days until Paul Pogba’s return to the Manchester United team.

Pogba sustained a hamstring injury against FC Basel last week and is expected to miss more than a month’s action as he looks to recuperate from the setback at an early stage of the season.

Marouane Fellaini replaced the Frenchman in the side as Manchester United beat Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford last weekend and Mourinho has claimed that he is not aware of how long the midfielder will be out of action.

The Manchester United manager stressed that he has players who he trusts to replace the Frenchman in the team and insisted that he is not losing any sleep over when Pogba will be returning to his squad fit and ready to play.

Mourinho said in a press conference: “I have no idea [when he will be back].

“No idea. But, again, it’s a great opportunity for other players to play and I trust them all.

"So I’m not going to cry or be counting the days until Pogba comes back, not at all.

“When he comes back, welcome, but until then, I trust my people.”

Manchester United have a tough run of fixtures coming up with the team playing six of their next seven games on the road in all competitions.
