Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says there are so many positives to take from his side's 3-2 win away at Leicester City.

The Reds lost at the King Power Stadium to exit the EFL Cup in midweek, but pulled ahead in the Premier League encounter through Mohamed Salah in the 15th minute.

Philippe Coutinho then produced a magical free kick in the 22nd minute to extend their advantage, but Liverpool saw their lead pegged back just before half time when Shinji Okazaki struck.

Jordan Henderson restored Liverpool's two-goal lead in the 68th minute, but Leicester came back again when Jamie Vardy headed into an empty net.

Vardy was then awarded a penalty when he was brought down by Simon Mignolet, but the Belgian then saved the striker's spot-kick.

Liverpool held on to take all three points and Klopp was left delighted.

It is not a time to be completely cool but overall I was happy with our performance", Klopp told the BBC.

"The boys deserved the three points. The free kick for the first goal was not a free-kick and it was a foul on Simon [for the second goal].

"At the start of the second half we played the same football like Leicester – kind of hectic. Simon saved the penalty and then I think we really deserved the win.

"I really thought in a moment like this so many things are positive.

"The three points are the proof for the public that we are still here, everything is good. Let's make the next step together."

Liverpool are next in action in Russia in midweek when they face Spartak Moscow in the Champions League, before a Premier League visit to Newcastle United.
