Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has admitted that Rangers looked dangerous from crosses in Saturday's derby, however the hitman insists that the Bhoys were always in control of proceedings at Ibrox.

The Scottish Premiership fixture was locked at 0-0 heading into half time after Celtic spurned a number of goalscoring opportunities in the opening period.

But Brendan Rodgers' side did not make the same mistakes after the break and first Tom Rogic and then Griffiths struck to hand the Bhoys a 2-0 win and all three points.

Rangers were not without their moments though, even as Celtic dominated, and Griffiths admits Pedro Caixinha's men did look dangerous when getting the ball into the box.

"They were dangerous at crosses, but our two centre-halves were comfortable in the game and going forward, we could have scored more goals", the striker said via his club's official site.

"The final ball in the first half wasn’t great.

"We could have looked up a bit more and, with the chances we created, if the ball had squared the ball across the box, then the boys had tap-ins at the back post.

"At half-time, the gaffer said to us to stay calm, as the chances would come and 2-0 in the end is a good victory for us", Griffiths added.

Celtic have now opened up an eight-point lead over Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership and also extended their unbeaten domestic record to 57 matches.
