Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb is excited by young Reds talent Rhian Brewster and believes it is a source of inspiration for the youngsters at Anfield to see a pathway to the first team.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has not been shy to give youngsters chances to impress as part of the first team set-up and striker Brewster could be another one in line to break through.

Babb regularly watches Liverpool Under-23s in action and the defender feels that anyone who takes in the side's games will know all about the striker.

The defender also explained that Liverpool are blessed for talent in the youth ranks, but says the Reds must work to keep their starlets grounded.

The former Liverpool centre-back said on LFC TV: "Rhian Brewster is another that's on the lips of people who watch Liverpool Under-23s and know all about him.

"We're blessed with talent.

"It's about keeping them grounded, little bits and pieces with the first team and if there's a pathway in, which is good, they can see they can break through to the first team.

"That will inspire them to get better as players", Babb added.

Brewster was tempted to Liverpool from Chelsea when he was just 15 years old.

An England Under-17 international, the striker made his Under-23s debut for Liverpool earlier this year and scored in the process, against Ipswich Town in the Premier League Cup.
