Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen is not playing down the importance of his side's Championship meeting with Cardiff City on Tuesday night, dubbing the clash a big game.

Christiansen has led Leeds to the top of the Championship table with 20 points from their opening nine matches, but Cardiff, who lie third, also have the same number of points.

Neil Warnock's side will leapfrog Leeds if they can put the Whites to the sword in Wales on Tuesday evening and Christiansen admits the game is huge.

But the Dane insists he does not doubt his side's ability to cope with the pressure of an important clash.

Leeds beat Ipswich Town at the weekend and with Sheffield Wednesday to come after Cardiff, Christiansen knows the three games matter.

"The next game is always the most important, but I always said these three games were big games", he told a press conference.

"This team has shown they are ready for important games."

And the Leeds boss expects an intense battle, adding: "It will be like the Millwall game, the Ipswich game and the Birmingham game rolled into one."

Warnock's Cardiff arrested a spell of lacklustre form at the weekend by visiting Sunderland and coming away with all three points.

But the Bluebirds will be aware that Leeds have won on their last two visits, recording 2-0 victories on each occasion.
