Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp feels he is likely to start Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back in the Reds' Champions League meeting with Spartak Moscow, but insists no decision has yet been made final, while also indicating Sadio Mane could start.

Gomez was sent off in Liverpool's Champions League group stage opener at Anfield, a 2-2 draw with Spanish side Sevilla.

As such the defender is suspended for the trip to Russia and Klopp is leaning firmly towards putting youngster Alexander-Arnold in at right-back.

He will not yet firmly commit to Alexander-Arnold's selection however.

"It’s likely, but at the moment nothing is sure. But probably", Klopp told a press conference.

The Liverpool boss also welcomed the return of Mane, who has been serving a domestic suspension, but is available for European matches.

Klopp thinks starting the Senegalese forward makes sense, but as in the case of Alexander-Arnold, is not willing to confirm that is what he will do.

He added: "He’s back and available again – and if he is available it makes sense to bring him from the beginning, but we will see."

Liverpool flew out to Russia at around midday and touched down in Moscow at nearly 6:30pm, local time.

Klopp will want his men to make no mistake in taking all three points from the group stage game.
