Manchester United legend Paddy Crerand believes the Premier League title will be decided between the two Mancunian rivals this season, even though he feels Liverpool will mount a brave push.

Manchester City and Manchester United are level on points after six league games, but Pep Guardiola’s side are occupying top spot because of a superior goal difference.

Many pundits and observers believe that the Premier League title will be moving to Manchester at the end of the season and Crerand also feels that it will be between Manchester United and Manchester City for the league in May.

He admits Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur will remain contenders and he is expecting Liverpool to put in a stiffer challenge this season, but the Manchester United legend has insisted that eventually the league will move to the north west city at the end of the campaign.

Crerand said on MUTV’s Matchday review programme: “I think United or City will win the league.

“Obviously when you look there are Chelsea and Tottenham, and I think Liverpool maybe will put in a braver challenge.

“But I still think it will be between United and City.”

Manchester City will host Premier League champions Chelsea next Saturday at the Etihad and Manchester United will take on struggling Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on the same day.
