Liverpool legend and current Under-18s coach Steven Gerrard says that he is sure a number of sides are scouting Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.

The 20-year-old was in good form for Celtic as the Scottish giants brushed aside Anderlecht in the Champions League on Wednesday night, running out 3-0 winners in the group stage clash in Belgium.

Gerrard took in Tierney's performance while on pundit duty for BT Sport and is sure that several clubs will be keeping a close eye on the defender.

He said: "He's an excellent left-back, an attacking full-back.

"I am sure a lot of sides are watching him", Gerrard added.

Tierney has been linked with other clubs over the course of the last year, with Manchester United especially mooted as potential suitors in the January transfer window.

A product of Celtic's youth system, Tierney has established himself as a key man and further kicked on his game under former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

Under contract with the Bhoys until 2021, Tierney is now closing in on his 100th senior appearance for the club, with the defender currently on 91.
