Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko has expressed his delight at returning to training with the Bhoys.

The centre-back has made just two competitive apperances for Celtic this term after being sidelined with an injury, something which meant he could not help Brendan Rodgers' men in their Scottish Premiership campaign in the early weeks of the season; he has also not played in the Champions League proper.

But now Sviatchenko is back and is set to swell Rodgers' options in central defence.

And he is delighted, taking to social media to post a photograph of himself on the training pitch.

Sviatchenko also wrote: "Finally back."

He may have a battle forcing his way back into Rodgers' starting eleven however, with Celtic flying high at present.

Rodgers fielded Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic as Celtic's central defensive pair earlier this week as the Bhoys crushed Anderlecht 3-0 in an away Champions League group stage fixture.
