Celtic youngster Patrick Roberts feels that Brendan Rodgers has put a lot of faith in him and has stressed his desire to strive towards repaying the manager.

Roberts has been one of the key men down the wing for the Bhoys this season, particularly in the Champions League, where he has featured in both their group stage games, adding to the scoresheet once.

As far as the Scottish Premiership is concerned, Roberts has played three games, though the player revealed that the manager's faith in him has been overwhelming.

And now the player concerned insists that it is up to him to show what he can do and in the process repay the faith the manager has put in him.

“The manager knows what I bring, he knows the type of play I am and that’s why he’s brought me to the club", the youngster told his club's official website.

“He puts a lot of trust in me at such a young age and I strive to repay that.

"He’s been good ever since he came here and I can only get better for him."

As far as his season's targets are concerned, Roberts said that he has not set special targets, but his main aim will be to play a significant role in the team's Champions League campaign.

“I haven’t set myself any specific targets.

"I just want to keep improving as a player and to win as many games as I can, and stages like the Champions League play a big part in that.”
