Empoli coach Vincenzo Vivarini says he has had no further contact with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, but hopes to meet up with him at the end of the year.

Mourinho called Vivarini in September and the Portuguese tactician told the Empoli boss that he is keeping a close watch on his progress at the Italian club.

Empoli are flying high in Serie B, sitting top of the table with 14 points from their opening eight games.

But Vivarini revealed Mourinho has not yet contacted him again, though he is hoping to be able to meet up with the Manchester United boss in the future.

The Empoli coach told Sky Italia: "He [Mourinho] is now concentrating on his team and I’m [concentrating] on my side.
