Arsenal left-back Sead Kolasinac has revealed that Roberto Carlos and Zinedine Zidane were the two players he idolised while growing up.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has made a bright start to his Premier League career since moving from Schalke 04 in the summer, playing in a total of eight matches so far for his new team.

In those eight matches, the 24-year-old has found the back of the net twice and has also set up two more goals for his team-mates.

In an exclusive interview with Arsenal's official magazine, the new arrival revealed that one player he has tried to emulate has been Brazilian star Carlos.

French legend Zidane is another player Kolasinac insists has been an inspiration when it comes to practising his tricks on the pitch.

"Roberto Carlos and Zinedine Zidane are the two that really stayed in my head", the 24-year-old told his club's official website.

"You don’t have to say much about those two, everyone knows them and as a child, they had a real influence on me.

"I remember I used to try to take free-kicks like the one Roberto Carlos scored against France [at Le Tournoi in 1997].

"But what I trained more often was that Zidane trick, which I practised a lot on the pitch. It's the roulette – I did it against Leicester. We always practised it.

"I still talk often with my friends about our childhood.

"Looking back, as soon as school finished, we’d go to the local pitch and play until our mothers would drag us away late at night."

Kolasinac will be hoping to add to his appearances for the Gunners when they take to the pitch yet again this weekend against Watford on 14th October.
