Lewie Coyle has revealed that besides helping Fleetwood Town to earn promotion, his aim for the season is to play well and return to Leeds United to put himself in the shop window for Whites head coach Thomas Christiansen.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Trawlermen on a season-long loan deal from the Whites in the summer, has been in fine form for the League One outfit.




In addition to helping his side’s defence, the right-back has also managed to provide four assists in 12 appearances in all competitions for his current employers.

And Coyle, who admitted that he is not the finished article yet, however explained that he has been happy with his performances for Fleetwood.
 


The youngster stated that he wants to help Fleetwood earn promotion to the Championship and return to Leeds as an improved player.

“The aim for me is to help Fleetwood go up this season but also to play well enough to go back to Leeds and put myself in the shop window for the manager there”, Coyle told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“I’m a very ambitious person and I don’t like settling for second best but I’m realistic as well.

“I know I have to play and I know I have to do well [at Fleetwood].

“I’ve got to show that I’m good enough.

“Coming here, no-one is going to go easy on me.

“I’m not the finished article or even close but I’ve not been brought in here to take it easy.

“I’m like any other signing, I’ve got to do well and I’m happy with the way I’ve played so far.

“First and foremost I’ve got to be at it.”

Fleetwood presently find themselves ninth in the League One table with 19 points from 11 games, just one adrift of Charlton Athletic, who occupy the sixth and final playoff spot.
