Sports rights firm MP & Silva, the company Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani founded and is a shareholder in, appear to have suffered a blow if a report from Italy is accurate.

According to Italian news agency ANSA, MP & Silva will soon no longer have the global rights to Italy's Serie A, which have been snapped up by IMG in a deal worth €340m per season.

Radrizzani's company pocketed all Serie A's overseas rights in 2010, having originally had some since 2004, and paid €90m per season, a sum which later grew to €117m when the deal was renewed.

MP & Silva's current agreement is worth €185m per season to Serie A and was agreed in late 2014.

IMG scooping up the rights, if confirmed, would be a blow to MP & Silva; the new rights cycle runs from 2018 until 2021.

But for Serie A, the new deal will represent a signifcant increase in the amount earned for overseas rights.

The figure is still dwarfed in comparison to the Premier League however.

Premier League clubs currently earn around €1.1 billion per season from their overseas rights
