Aberdeen defender Mark Reynolds has lavished praise on Celtic loanee Ryan Christie for his showing with the Dons.

The attacking midfielder initially joined Aberdeen on loan from Celtic in January this year before again going back to Pittodrie during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has started the season strongly with the Dons and his performances have been receiving plaudits, especially from his team-mates.

Reynolds is a big fan of the young Scottish midfielder and believes he is one of the most complete players he has played with during his career.

The defender told the club’s official website: "I have played with good players, been involved in international squads, but I can't emphasise enough how much I rate Ryan.

"He is the most complete player I have seen."

The Aberdeen defender admits Christie has forced other players to raise their game on the pitch as well as in training as he is so good no one can just afford to switch off.

He feels the Celtic loanee has taken Aberdeen to the next level with his midfield performances.

"He is so good on the ball, anywhere on the park. He finds space.

"His feet are a joke, his technique, his passing, he can run all day, he has got a bit of fight in him and a nasty streak. He has goals in him as well.

“I have made no secret of how highly I rate him. When we are playing well he can take us to that next level.

"Training with players of that ability keeps you switched on.

"You can't afford to have an off day. You have to give your all or you get found out."

Christie has so far turned in 29 performances Aberdeen, providing ten assists and scoring an equal amount of goals.
