Former Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta believes he still has time to join a big club and insists he will only return to the Premier League at a top outfit.

The Congolese was a huge talent in the Chelsea academy and the club had high hopes for him, but he only made 16 senior appearances before leaving on a permanent transfer in 2015 to join Sevilla.

He didn’t last too long at the Spanish outfit and moved to China in 2016 before returning to Spain on a loan deal to join Deportivo La Coruna in January last year.

Kakuta joined French outfit SC Amiens on loan last summer, but the former Chelsea star feels he still has time in his hands to progress in his career and return playing for a top Champions League club.

The former France Under-21 international is not ruling out a return to the Premier League, but only wants to join a big club in England.

The Congolese told French magazine France Football: “I would like to return to a top club, a team that play in the Champions League regularly.

“I liked England and I knew Chelsea are a real top club, but if I return to the Premier League, I want to go back through the front door.

“It’s my aim; I am still just 26 and still not finished.”

The 26-year-old has a contract until 2019 with Hebei China Fortune.
