Neil Redfearn admits he thinks Pierre-Michel Lasogga represents a good signing for Leeds United, but says the German striker appears to run out of gas after an hour in games.

Leeds swooped to bring in Lasogga on a season-long loan deal from German Bundesliga club Hamburg in the summer as they looked to fill the hole left by the loss of Chris Wood to Burnley.

The powerful striker has hit the ground running at Elland Road and already has three goals in five Championship matches to his name.

Amidst a sea of signings from abroad, Redfearn thinks Lasogga looks the most at home with the cut and thrust of Championship football and lauded his neat touches for a player of his size.

But he thinks Lasogga does need to work on his ability to last 90 minutes.

"I quite like him", Redfearn said on Radio Yorkshire.

"He's more like a domestic type of centre forward, or a player that's played at domestic level in this country than any of the other overseas signings.

"He's big and he's physical and he uses his physical presence.

"If I was to give one criticism then it would be I think he could be fitter.

"He'll give you a good hour, particularly at home, but after that he seems to run out of juice.

"But I do like him and he's got a real deftness of touch for a big man. When it goes into him he's got this ability to play balls into people that have made runs beyond him.

"I think he is a good signing to be fair", he added.

Lasogga has completed the full 90 minutes in three of his Championship appearances, while in a further game he clocked up 86 minutes.

The striker will be expected to line up this weekend when Leeds entertain Reading.
