Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen has indicated he will keep faith with under-fire goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald for Saturday's visit of Reading.

Wiedwald was slotted in as number 1 in the summer following his arrival from Werder Bremen in a move that raised eyebrows due to Rob Green's performances between the sticks last term.

Green subsequently left to join Huddersfield Town and Wiedwald has struggled to win over the fans, with several poor performances and questionable decision making not helping his cause.

But Christiansen is not about to drop the German and has come out in defence of the summer signing.

"I have confidence in all my goalkeepers", he said at a press conference when asked about criticism of Wiedwald.

"Everyone has to settle in. I'm still settling in!

"Felix is not the only one.

"We must remember his six clean sheets", Christiansen added.

Leeds go into the Reading match having lost three of their last four league games, with eight goals conceded in their last three Championship outings.

Christiansen will be banking on Wiedwald producing the goods against Jaap Stam's men at Elland Road as he seeks to ease worries over the summer signing.
