Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam, who has been linked with Liverpool and Juventus, has emerged as a target for Premier League giants Manchester City.

Ghoulam’s current deal with the Serie A leaders expires at the end of the current season and despite talks on a fresh agreement stretching for months, he is yet to agree the terms of a new contract with the club.

The negotiations have stalled and Ghoulam could be on his way out of Napoli as early as the January transfer window as the club look to avoid losing him on a free transfer next summer.

And according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester City have emerged as a possible destination for the defender, who is keen to consider his options over the next few months.

Pep Guardiola is expected to be in the market for a new left-back after Benjamin Mendy was ruled out for the season with a serious knee injury and Ghoulam has emerged as a target.

A January move could be on the cards, but Manchester City could also wait until the summer to snap him on a free transfer after the defender’s contract with Napoli expires.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have also been linked with Ghoulam, but it remains to be seen if they will provide the Citizens with competition.

Juventus too have been keeping tabs on the defender’s contractual situation.
