Eddie Gray believes a Leeds United win over Reading today is important in order to maintain the positivity surrounding Elland Road this season.

Following a good start to the season, Leeds have stumbled and have lost three of their last four league games, which has seen them drop down to fifth in the Championship.

However, the atmosphere surrounding the club is positive after a summer where Leeds recruited well for their squad and new owner Andrea Radriazzani bought back Elland Road.

While the recent run of form has been a concern, many feel Leeds are on the right path at the moment and Gray believes a win today against Reading is vital to keep the positive atmosphere going.

And the Leeds legend is certain that the players will put in a good performance and get the club back to winning ways against the Royals.

The former White told LUTV: “It’s an important game from the point of view of maintaining the feel-good factor around the football club.

“Ours fans are not stupid; Reading are coming here, they are not in good form, they have injuries to key players and so the fans will be expecting us to win.

“It’s important that we pick up the three points and I am sure we will.

"I am confident that the players will put on a display and win the game.”

Leeds are yet to lose a home game this season and the only win they registered in the last four league fixtures came at Elland Road.
