Leeds United legend Eddie Gray believes the international break came at the right time for some of the stars in the Whites team.

Thomas Christiansen’s men are on a poor run of form after a good start to the season and lost three of their last four league games before the international break.

Leeds are in desperate need of a win to get their campaign back on track ahead of facing Reading and Gray feels the break might have helped some of the players in the squad.

He believes the internationals got a chance to get away from the club for a while and feels it could have helped them to feel more refreshed before they returned to the grind of the Championship.

Gray is certain that the Leeds squad will be up for the challenge of facing the Royals at Elland Road.

The Leeds legend told LUTV: “They got a chance to get away from the football club for a bit, meet different people, train with different people and now they are back to see their team-mates.

“I think they will really be up for the Reading game.

"It’s an opportunity and when you look at it, you have got three out of the next four league games at home.

“That augurs well, especially if we get three points against Reading.”

Leeds are currently fifth in the Championship on 20 points, just a point ahead of the teams outside the top six.
