Former Blues defender Frank Sinclair believes Chelsea’s performance against Crystal Palace should be a cause for concern for Antonio Conte.

Chelsea have slumped to two defeats in a row in the league after their shock loss at Selhurst Park and are now nine points off Premier League leaders Manchester City.

With three defeats in their first eight league games, the Premier League champions have already lost a lot of ground in the title race early in the season.

And Sinclair believes the performance level against a Palace side, who were without a point or a goal in the league until the game, must be uncomfortable for the Chelsea manager.

The former Blue said on Chelsea TV after the game: “This performance is worrying for the manager.”

Ex-Chelsea striker Tommy Langley is also worried about the performance he saw at Selhurst Park from the Premier League champions and feels the team were nowhere near the races.

He said: “I've got to say I'm worried because Man City, I could make the odd excuse because we were so poor.

“But this has been a performance I never expected."

Chelsea will need to turn their attention towards the Champions League on Wednesday night when they host Roma at Stamford Bridge.
