Jermaine Jenas believes that Chelsea and Liverpool should be worried about the gap that Manchester City have established over them in the Premier League.

Antonio Conte's Premier League champions slipped to a shock 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday, while Jurgen Klopp's men saw their stuttering form continue with a 0-0 draw at home against Manchester United.

Manchester City meawhile drubbed Stoke City 7-2 and sit nine points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea and eighth placed Liverpool after just eight games.

Manchester United are only two points off the pace and Spurs five, but Jenas thinks a nine-point gap should have Chelsea and Liverpool worried.

Asked on BT Sport Score if Chelsea and Liverpool should be worried, he replied: "I'd be worried."

And Jenas' words were echoed by former Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince.

"The most important thing is that Pep [Guardiola] has learned about the Premier League and how to play it", he said.

"That scares me more than anything."

Liverpool have now won just one match in their last eight games, something which shines a spotlight further on Klopp's transfer business in the summer.

Chelsea meanwhile have lost their last two on the bounce, setting alarm bells ringing at Stamford Bridge.
