Former Chelsea star Frank Sinclair has slammed the attitude of some of the Blues players after Antonio Conte’s men slumped to a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of Chelsea’s visit, Palace had yet to secure a point or score a goal in the league this season, but Roy Hodgson’s men showed rare character to beat the Premier League champions at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles looked the better team and created the better chances as Chelsea struggled to cope with their intensity, but Sinclair was not happy with some of the individual performances he saw in south London.

He was not pleased with the attitude shown some of the players and while the former Blue admits that anyone can have a bad day at the office, the lack of desire from some of the Chelsea stars infuriated him.

The former Blue said on Chelsea TV after the game: “That's what's got my back up. It's the way certain players have reacted.

“You can play badly in a game and have nothing that you can physically do about your performance, your passing – it's not happening for you today.

“You just have an off day, but for me I can't accept the response from certain players today.

“[They were] just strolling about”, said an agitated Sinclair.

“So you're having an off day, you're not affecting the game and you're strolling about as well.

“You might as well not get on the coach.”

Chelsea have slumped to back-to-back defeats in the league and are nine points off league leaders Manchester City.
