Chelsea legend Tommy Langley has bemoaned Tammy Abraham being away from Stamford Bridge and scoring goals, as he believes the Blues could have used the striker at Crystal Palace.

Antonio Conte saw his side misfire at Selhurst Park as Palace grabbed their first win of the current Premier League season.

While the Blues were losing 2-1 to Roy Hodgson's men, Abraham was helping Swansea City, where he is on loan, beat Huddersfield Town.

The Chelsea contracted striker scored both Swansea's goals in their 2-0 win at the Liberty Stadium.

Langley thinks that Conte is not convinced about Michy Batshuayi and feels that Abraham could have done a job against the Eagles.

"When that happens it rubs salt on a very open wound, knowing he's one of our players", he said on Chelsea TV after the defeat, referring to Abraham scoring a brace.

"If you look at the lack of presence up front, we didn't have anyone to hold up the ball and when the ball came in the box, any presence to nod it in.

"It's certain areas of the pitch you look at and I'm sure the boss is looking at, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't fancy Michy.

"Look at Tammy being away and scoring two goals.

"Today is a game you could have played him in", he added.

Abraham, who is still just 20 years old, scored for fun on loan in the Championship with Bristol City last term and is now handling the leap to Premier League football.
