The chances of Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru moving to Everton in January have been rated as "very small".

The Toffees snapped Onyekuru up from Belgian side Eupen in the summer transfer window, beating off competition from a number of clubs, before then loaning him to Anderlecht for the season.

Onyekuru recently went on the record admitting that he was hoping to head to Goodison Park ahead of time, with the January transfer window in his sights.

But according to Belgian outlet Voetbal Krant, the chances that Onyekuru does move to Everton early are very small.

There is no clause in Everton's agreement with Anderlecht which would allow the Toffees to recall Onyekuru in January.

And Everton currently have no plans to approach Anderlecht about an early recall, as they are keen to leave Onyekuru in Belgium for the full season to aid his development.

There also remains a potential issue with the Nigerian's work permit.

Onyekuru, 20, has netted seven goals in 13 appearances for Anderlecht this term.
