Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he will again start Loris Karius ahead of Simon Mignolet in goal for Liverpool's Champions League group stage fixture away at Maribor on Tuesday night.

Mignolet reclaimed his starting spot from Karius last season after Klopp made his countryman his number 1, and worked hard to help Liverpool qualify for the Champions League.

But now the Belgium international goalkeeper is having to watch Liverpool's Champions League group campaign from the bench as Klopp plays Karius in Europe's elite club competition.

Karius has played in both Liverpool's group games so far and will turn out again against Maribor.

Klopp told his club's official site: "Yes, Loris will start.

"If nothing happens from here on the way to Maribor, then Loris will start!"

Karius has struggled to impress at Liverpool since his move to the club from German outfit Mainz, where Klopp started his international career.

Liverpool have drawn both their Champions League group encounters so far, but Klopp is positive their football will eventually yield wins.
