Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks believes that his side's Champions League fixture against Real Madrid is going to be exciting and says Spurs will approach the game in a confident mood.

The Lilywhites go into the game with confidence having won their last match in the Premier League 1-0 against Bournemouth at Wembley on Saturday.

The match was the north London side's first league win at their adopted home ground Wembley, and now they head into the game against Real Madrid away from home at the Santiago Bernabeu in fine spirits according to the 21-year-old.

Responding to a question asked by his club's official website on whether the result at the weekend will provide Spurs with added momentum, the youngster said: “Definitely. It’s going to be an exciting game which everyone is looking forward to.

"We’ve got confidence going into it so there’s no reason why we can’t go there, put on a good performance and do well."

“It was great to get the three points.

"It was a tough game, Bournemouth set up to make it difficult for us but we were very resilient, we played well and we’re happy to get the win in the end.”

Tottenham have a busy schedule ahead and they host Liverpool next Sunday.
