Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente believes that Real Madrid will be a difficult team and has warned Spurs they must control the game to avoid Los Blancos killing them.

The team from north London are scheduled to visit the Santiago Bernabeu this Tuesday night as they look to extend their winning run in the Champions League to three consecutive group games.

However, the job doesn't look easy as they Lilywhites will be coming up against last season's champions in the form of Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have also won both their matches in the group stage and will now look to extend that run in order to firmly establish their position at the top of the group.

As far as Llorente is concerned, the Madrid giants are a difficult team to beat because of the quality they offer.

Tottenham's chances in the match will depend on how well they capitalise on the options given to them, Llorente feels.

"It's very complicated. They have achieved stability and are an impressive team", the former Swansea man told Spanish daily Marca, when asked how Spurs beat Real Madrid.

"Years ago they always had impressive individuals, but in the last four seasons they have won three Champions Leagues and are now a great squad.

"They are a very difficult team to beat but with Juventus we did so in the 'semis' a few years ago.

"Against them you have to have control, it is not worth stealing the ball. Madrid kills you because it has more quality and effectiveness than you, but always gives you options.

"We should play our very best game, especially defensively and not neglect the spaces in behind, because Real have lethal players and that's why you have to play with great precision: against Madrid you can not miss those silly balls in the middle, for example."
