Lille are interested in signing Crystal Palace and Southampton target Paco Alcacer from Barcelona in January, according to French football magazine But Football Club.

The striker, who joined Barcelona from Valencia in the summer of 2016, has struggled for game time in the present campaign.

Alcacer has thus far managed to clock up just 122 minutes over three appearances in all competitions this season, providing an assist.

Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Southampton, who were linked with the Spaniard in the summer, have been claimed to still be keen to snap him up when the transfer window reopens in January.

But it has been claimed that Lille are also in the race to sign Alcacer, who scored eight goals for Barcelona last season.

Although the Catalan giants had no intention of letting go of the 24-year-old in January, with him being a backup option for Luis Suarez, Alcacer wants to leave Barcelona in order to play regularly and be part of Spain’s World Cup squad.

Lille sporting director Marc Ingla has travelled to Barcelona to express their interest after coach Marcelo Bielsa gave the green signal; the French club want to sign the forward on loan with an option to buy.

Spanish outfit Celta Vigo have also been credited with showing interest in Alcacer, who it seems has no dearth of suitors.
