Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has conceded the fact that the match against Real Madrid will be a tough one for his team, but insists that they will need to keep their identity.

The team from north London are visiting the Santiago Bernabeu this evening as they try to continue their winning run in the Champions League and make progress towards qualifying for the round of 16.




Tottenham boss Pochettino insists that he and his team are excited about the match against Real Madrid, as it will give them a fantastic chance to show their quality and win in Spain.

"We’re so excited to go to Madrid and play Champions League", the manager told his club's official website.
 


"It will be a very tough game but in the same way it’s so exciting to play Champions League against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu. It’s a fantastic situation to show our quality and try to win."

On the nature of the game and the challenges Tottenham are expected to face, Pochettino said that it will be tough against Real Madrid at their home but as visitors Spurs will have to keep their identity and try to take all three points.

"We have to keep our identity.

"Of course, sometimes in this kind of game you have to compete in the best way knowing that they will push you and force you play deeper.

"We will play in the opposition’s half, try to dominate the game and try to score goals, that’s so important.

"It’s a special game for everyone, not only for me. It’s exciting to face teams at this level.
