Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente believes that his stint in Italy with the country's best club side, Juventus, helped him grow as a player.

The 32-year-old spent two years of his club career in Italy with Juventus, where he had a successful stint, scoring 27 goals overall in 92 matches and providing his team-mates with ten assists.

According to Llorente, the stint with the Italian champions helped him grow as a player as he had to cope with immense competition at the club, with as many as six strikers vying for just two positions up front.

And he says that the fact he managed to score as many as 18 in his very first season gave him confidence to go on and score more in his second season.

The veteran striker also took time to reveal that his Juventus spell helped him learn how to develop himself in situations where teams parked the bus.

"In Italy I grew up as a player, I went to the best team, where the competition I had was brutal", Llorente said in an interview with Spanish daily Marca.

"We had six strikers vying for two positions and although I struggled to adapt, I finished the season scoring 18 goals.

"In addition I learned to develop myself in situations where I faced teams that parked the bus, leaving very few spaces."
