Leeds United full-back Gaetano Berardi has urged the home fans to be more positive as the Whites fight to get back to winning ways.

The Whites have been winless in their last three league games, with the last defeat coming at their home ground against Reading.

As many as 34,000 home fans were in attendance at Elland Road against Reading, seeing their team dominate possession and enjoy more shots on goal, only to be left frustrated as an 85th minute strike from Mo Barrow secured all three points for the visitors.

Besides the disappointment of the result, Berardi was also struck by the negative response from the fans during the game and insists that the mood needs to be more positive when the team are playing at their home in front of their fans.

Not simply the fans, the 29-year-old feels that everyone associated with the club, the players, the staff and the crowd, need to be positive as they try to put the recent results behind them and move on.

“It’s nice to see the stadium full and we need to take some good results for [the fans]", Berardi told his club's official channel.

"But I would like to say a message to them – we would like to hear them more positive because I could hear some bad things during the game.

“That’s normal and it’s football but everyone has to be positive.

"The players, the staff, everyone in the crowd.”
