Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini wants to manage Arsenal and could take over at the club when Arsene Wenger's new two-year contract runs out, ex-Inter and Italy defender Daniele Adani believes.

Mancini is currently in charge at Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg, but has experience of managing in the Premier League due to a spell at Manchester City.

Adani feels that Mancini can enjoy success with Zenit, guiding the Russians back into the Champions League after they missed out on this season's competition, and then put himself in pole position to return to England with Arsenal.

The former centre-back, who was capped by Italy at international level, says that Mancini wants to manage Arsenal.

Adani said on Sky Italia: "Roberto can be Wenger's successor.
