Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is more concerned about his side’s upcoming tough games rather than Manchester City’s form.

Manchester City are flying in the Premier League at the moment and have become the first side in over a century to score 29 goals in their opening eight games of an English top flight season.

Many are already anointing Pep Guardiola’s men the probable champions this season, but Pochettino has insisted that despite Manchester City’s form his side will need to keep pushing.

They are still just five points off Manchester City, but with games against Liverpool and Manchester United coming up, the Spurs boss is keeping his focus on his side’s performances.

He feels the season will have its twists and turns and stressed that he is not thinking too much about Manchester City’s form at this stage of the campaign.

Asked about Manchester City’s impressive start to the season, Pochettino said in his pre-Liverpool press conference: “I think we are not going to play against Manchester City.

"They are playing very well and showing great quality. They are very good. Of course only we need to keep pushing, winning games.

“We have ahead in the Premier League Liverpool and Manchester United and it will be very tough to beat them, but that is our mentality.

“Since the start of the season many things can happen.

"We are not focused on what they are doing or any other team are doing.

“It’s so important for us to keep pushing.”
