Juventus are keeping a close watch on the contract situation of
Liverpool linked defender Stefan de Vrij, but the Lazio man is not a top priority for the club.

De Vrij’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and while Lazio have been in talks over a new deal, he is yet to sign, leading to speculation over his future.

The Dutchman, who joined Lazio from Feyenoord in 2014, has not committed to signing a new contract with the club and has been attracting interest from big names in Europe.

Liverpool have been keeping track of him since last summer and even Juventus have been linked with having an interest in signing him on a free transfer next summer.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, the Italian champions are keeping themselves informed about his contract tussle with Lazio and still retain an interest in him.

However, De Vrij is not a priority for the club next summer and they will continue to consider other options for their defence.

The Netherlands international has been seeking assurances over the strength of the Lazio squad going forward before he commits his future at the Stadio Olimpico.

The defender is also considering a release clause in any potential new contract with Lazio.
