Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie has urged his side to use the Pittodrie crowd to their advantage during their Scottish Premiership clash against Celtic on Wednesday.

Derek McInnes’ team, who are currently level on points with leaders Celtic, will head into the game on the back of a three-game winning streak in the league.

Besides Celtic, Aberdeen are the only other undefeated team in the Scottish Premiership in the present campaign; the Dons' sole defeat this season came against Motherwell in the Scottish League Cup in September.

And Shinnie, who insisted that his side’s confidence is high ahead of their meeting with the Scottish champions, called on Aberdeen to fully utilise the home support at Pittodrie on Wednesday.

"We go into the game with our confidence high”, he said on RedTV.

“The one disappointing match this season was the Motherwell cup game.

“That aside, it has been a really strong start to the season and the fans have recognised that.

“Home and away, they have supported us so well this season.

“Pittodrie will be packed on Wednesday.

“We need to use the crowd.

“I know they will get right behind us, but we need to give them something to cheer about.

"It will be a big occasion and a big night and it is one everyone in the dressing room is looking forward to.

"Night games at this ground are always special, that little bit different, and we have some good memories against Celtic here from previous midweek games.

“Hopefully it is a good night and one to remember again.

"We know what we need to do."

Celtic, who were unbeaten domestically last season as they went on to lift the treble, are yet to be defeated by a Scottish team in the ongoing campaign.

Brendan Rodgers’ team have already managed to reach the Scottish League Cup final by beating Hibernian 4-2 in the semi-finals at the weekend.
